European Confirmed As Arrows Juniors.

The Arrows F1 team and European Formula Racing have joined forces in a deal which confirms the F3000 squad as the official Arrows junior team for the 2000 season.

The association will have benefits both ways, with European Formula's holding company European Aviation providing the transportation of Arrows personnel next season, and the team contributing technical support for its more illustrious partner.

"European Formula Racing operates an impressive facility at its headquarters in Ledbury," commented Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw, "It easily conforms to Formula One standards, and I am delighted to have an association with such a professional outfit. I am sure the partnership will produce the required results for both parties, and am confident that we will both have a successful 2000 season."

European Formula recently signed rising star Mark Webber to spearhead its F3000 attack next season, and the Australian is expected to get a run with Arrows during testing this year. Webber, who captured the attention of the world's media when he suffered two somersaults in practice for the 1999 Le Mans 24hrs with Mercedes, featured prominently at the latest F3000 test at Barcelona, despite not having driven a single-seater in anger for several months.

"We are delighted to have forged an alliance with the Arrows team," said European boss Paul Stoddart, "The new collaboration, together with a new driver line-up, provides us with an extremely competitive package to kick-start us into the next millennium. I fully expect to be winning."

Arrows, meanwhile, will hope that its association with European Formula Racing is more successful than its last attempt at forging a junior team bond, which saw the Portman-Arrows F3000 outfit withdraw from the series mid-season.
