Button Tests For Prost.

British F3 title hopeful Jenson Button got a second taste of F1 with Prost last week.


The English teenager complemented an earlier run with McLaren - his prize drive for winning the 1998 Autosport Young Driver of the Year Award - with 40 laps of the Barcelona circuit on Friday.


Starting from a base set-up, Button worked through a series of set-ups as he spent the entire day with the team. His best lap - of 1min 24.5secs - proved to be quicker than Jean Alesi's benchmark of 24 hours earlier, although neither ran to exactly the same specification.


Prost's latest signing Nick Heidfeld continued to pilot the second car, lapping in a best time of 1min 23.16secs as he compared different tyre compounds for Bridgestone.
