Silverstone test - day two: 24 May.
Prost and McLaren finally got to run at Silverstone yesterday after the sort of weather experienced at the British Grand Prix had wiped out day one.
Both teams decided not to travel to the new Spanish circuit at Valencia, but were probably ruing the decision as heavy rain pounded Northamptonshire throughout Tuesday. While the six teams present on the Iberian peninsular, Mika Hakkinen and Stephane Sarrazin were left to kick their heels for 24 hours before finally getting some action.

The pair then enjoyed the freedom of the circuit, as the only two runners on Wednesday, and put it to good use by working through their separate development programmes.
Hakkinen, driving for McLaren in the absence of the still-recovering David Coulthard, used both available cars as he began the next step in the Woking team's quest to overhaul Ferrari, while Sarrazin had just the one machine to re-acclimatise to Formula One. The Frenchman had yet to sample the latest AP03, and spent much of the early part of the day settling into the unfamiliar cockpit. Once at home, however, he worked slowly through a programme of back-to-back aerodynamic comparisons.
Neither driver is expected to be in action today [Thursday] with Jean Alesi replacing his young compatriot at Prost and Olivier Panis taking over for McLaren.
