Just as it did when Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger died at Imola in 1994, the Italian justice system is determined to find a culprit for the marshal's death but, with much speculation to be overcome, the enquiry could be a long one. With so many cars involved, and the fact that no part of the incident could be described as pre-meditated, much investigation, scientific and otherwise, needs to be carried out by the team of experts currently being assembled by the local magistrates charged with its handling.

According to sources, the legal team intends to use computers and other technology to 'recreate' the incident, as well as determining whether the medical assistance given to Ghislimberti was correct.
