Son of Ferrari boss found dead.

The only son of Fiat - and Ferrari - boss Gianni Agnelli has been found dead at a notorious suicide spot close to Turin.

The body of Edoardo Agnelli was discovered beneath a viaduct on the Turin to Savona autoroute and, although no actual cause of death has yet been established, his car was left at the roadside, suggesting that the heir to the Agnelli dynasty may have taken his own life.

Edoardo Agnelli was not directly involved in the running of the Fiat empire, preferring instead to distance himself from the family concern. Instead he spent his time out of the limelight, travelling overseas.

The tragedy follows shortly after the Agnelli family was able to celebrate Ferrari's first world drivers' championship in 21 years, but also comes just three years after Edoardo's cousin Giovanni Alberto - who was seen as the successor to the family business - succumbed to cancer.
