Protesters at Australian GP (again).
A small number of environmentalists have turned up again for the Australian Grand Prix to voice their feelings. A banner displayed by them read: "Get Australian F1 out of Albert Park."
This is the sixth year the Australian Grand Prix has been held in Melbourne's Albert Park and what is believed to be a minority of people again turned up to vent their feelings.
Back in 1996 the SAP group - 'Save Albert Park' - were particularly unhappy that over 1000 trees were chopped down to make way for the race track.

Back in 1996 the SAP group - 'Save Albert Park' - were particularly unhappy that over 1000 trees were chopped down to make way for the race track.
Then in 1997 they tried to disrupt proceedings by throwing diesel oil on the main straight as preparations for the race were entering their final stage. Only 500 people turned up on race day to stage a rally and during the protest a dummy representing Bernie Ecclestone was hanged and a number of yellow balloons were released.
Since then the protests have continued to die down becoming less and less newsworthy.
