Gene quickest again in Barcelona.

The Williams-BMW team continued testing at Barcelona today where Marc Gene will be driving for all four days. Gene again set the quickest time a 1m 21.804s - over half second faster than the Benetton of Mark Webber.

Reflecting on the day's work Gene said: "Today we finished the programme as planned and so far the test has been very positive. We made some progress on the tyres and Michelin are working very hard. We are trying some developments and I have already seen some improvements in this area."

Tim Newton - Williams' Test Team Manager - concluded: "Our main tasks for today were to evaluate the Silverstone tyres for Michelin and also do some endurance running on the engine. In the afternoon we evaluated traction control and gearbox strategy."

Lurcy-Levis test - day two:

The Williams-BMW team was also in action at Lurcy-Levis today for the second of a three-day test. Ricardo Sperafico was present at the track continuing to conduct aerodynamic straight line testing. The day was dry until a heavy rain-storm at about 5pm.
