Jordan Ford has confirmed that current F3000 champion Bj?rn Wirdheim will drive the team's third car in the private Formula One test session at Indianapolis on Friday 26 September 2003.

"I'm delighted to give Bj?rn this opportunity," said Eddie Jordan, chief executive. "He did a good job for us testing in Monza earlier this month and it's great to see top talent from the junior motorsport series proving themselves in Formula One.

"The last Swedish F1 driver, Stefan Johansson, was my team-mate many years ago and I've always had links with Sweden, which is why I'm particularly pleased that we are able to work with Bj?rn at this event."

Wirdheim tested for Jordan Ford with Giancarlo Fisichella in Monza on 4 September.

Jordan is hoping to see Ralph Firman return to action after his Hungarian GP crash, and subsequently truncated Silverstone test outing.
