Barcelona test - day two: 3 December.

McLaren-Mercedes driver David Coulthard was quickest today [Wednesday], at the Circuit de Catalunya, near Barcelona.

DC completed 41 laps in total, despite the very wet conditions, his best a 1 minute 28.114 seconds, around 12 seconds off yesterday's fastest time posted by Franck Montagny.

The Scot spent the day continuing to work on the new MP4-19, while McLaren third driver, Alexander Wurz continued with the MP4-17D, setting the third best time.

Montagny meanwhile was second, around eight tenths off DC, with Mark Webber coming in fourth, followed by Ryan Briscoe in fifth for Toyota, and Jaguar new boy, Christian Klien sixth.

Renault development drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Jose Maria Lopez were seventh and eighth, although neither completed many laps, Kovalainen managing 8, while Lopez notched up 14.

Ricardo Zonta was the only other runner in action, the Brazilian completed 19 laps in the Toyota TF103B, his best a 1m 33.492s.

Testing continues tomorrow [Thursday].
