Midland F1 announce two key signings.

The Midland F1 team, which is backed by Russian billionaire, Alex Shnaider and who aim to enter the championship in 2006, have made further progress with their plans, following the announcement that they have appointed two more key personnel.

Colin Kolles joins the outfit as managing director, after playing an important role with F3 Euro Series teams, Kolles Racing and TME, while Christian Geistdorfer, who competed in the WRC as a co-driver, earning himself two titles in 1980 and 1982, will be their marketing director.

Midland F1 boss, Shnaider, told the official F1 website: "Midland is very pleased to welcome Dr Colin Kolles and Christian Geistdoerfer to key positions in our organisation.

"Both possess the expertise and character necessary to achieve success at the pinnacle of motorsport. We believe their leadership skills will be a perfect fit for a young team that strives for excellence in every aspect of its operation."

Midland F1 has already appointed Trevor Carlin as their team manager, and will use Dallara chassis'.

The choice of power-plant has yet to be confirmed, although if the rumoured talks with Eddie Jordan come to fruition, then they will no doubt opt for Toyota engines, who will power Jordan Grand Prix in 2005.
