Fast female for GPlive.

A fast female with dreams of Grand Prix stardom will join the stars in action in the inaugural GPlive event at Donington Park next year after Jodie Hemmings confirmed she will appear with her Jordan F1 machine.

The 21-year-old, who will drive the Jordan 197 raced by Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralf Schumacher back in 1997, forms part of the ever-expanding programme for the event on 18-20 May and she said she was excited at the prospect of being part of the show.

"I'm really looking forward to the GPlive event at Donington," she said. "It will mean that I get to meet a lot of fans, not to mention rubbing shoulders with some great motor racing names. Add in one of the best drivers' circuits in the world. I'll be in heaven!"

Hemmings started racing in 1998 at the age of 13 and came close to winning the Junior TKM karting series title in her debut year. She switched to single-seat racing cars in 2002 in the Formula Honda 600 Championship and in only her second full season won all fifteen races - a feat never achieved before.

Now competing in the same Formula Renault UK that took Kimi Raikkonen to F1 stardom, Hemmings will be back behind the wheel of the Jordan she carried to a podium finish on her euroBOSS debut at Brands Hatch earlier this season.

"Jodie's presence at GPlive is clear proof that the event isn't just about drivers of years gone by" Richard Morgan, the initiator of GPlive, said. "Jodie is perhaps on of the most exciting new stars in the country and we're delighted she's agreed to join us both at the National Classic Motor Show and, of course at GPlive.

"Jodie will be joining what is perhaps the biggest line-up of iconic Grand Prix cars and stars in the world."
