Pierre Gasly has lost 10th place at the British Grand Prix after being handed a post-race five-second time penalty for colliding with Sergio Perez, which sees the Force India driver pick up the final points place.

After the late race Safety Cars bunched the pack up, Gasly used the opportunity to attack Perez for the final points place in the closing laps. The pair appeared to clash at the final chicane at Silverstone which pushed Perez wide and allowed Gasly to overtake the Mexican driver.

Upon reviewing the incident post-race, the FIA stewards deemed Gasly responsible for hitting Perez which forced him off track.

As a result, the French driver was given a five-second penalty which drops him from tenth place to 13th – behind Perez, Stoffel Vandoorne and Lance Stroll.

Gasly has also picked up two penalty points which pushes his current total to four over a 12-month period.

Following the decision, the Toro Rosso driver has called the penalty "bullshit" and feels it was a racing incident with Perez
