Former National Class title winner Jay Bridger has announced that he has signed a deal to drive Lake Motorsport's Porsche 911 GT3 in the final VLN endurance round at the Nurburgring this weekend, October 31.

Bridger, who tested for the team at Silverstone recently, will drive the ex-RPM Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 alongside team boss Ben Lake in the four-hour VLN finale, the event marking his first race outing in a GT car.

Berlin-based Lake Motorsport has opted to take in the event ahead of a full campaign in the German VLN series and at the Nurburgring 24 hours in 2010.

"I enjoyed driving the Porsche at Silverstone," said Bridger, who won the British F3 National Class in 2008 before stepping up the Championship Class this year. "To drive it around the awesome Nurburging will be a real challenge and a great introduction to GT racing, but it is one I am really looking forward to it."

"Jay went really well in the Silverstone test," Lake added, "and we look forward to running him at the Nurburgring.

"It is a new category of racing for Jay and I'm sure he will adapt really well to endurance racing."
