Arrows/European split in the air.

There will no Arrows lookalike in F3000 this season, following the end of relations between the Leafield team and its junior partner European Formula Racing.

The combination fielded one of the smartest cars in 2000, with MArk Webber and Dutchman Christijan Albers running in a similar orange-and-black livery to that sported by Jos Verstappen and Pedro de la Rosa in F1 but, following a disagreement over Webber's alleged testing time with the grand prix squad, the partnership has split.

Evidence of disharmony was noticeable at the recent Autosport International show, where European's radical two-seater car was on display devoid of its Arrows-esque colour scheme - and the F1 outfit unveiled its new, more radical, three-seater without the involvement of the F3000 operation.

Webber's future with Arrows ended when he signed a testing contract with rivals benetton for 2001, and it is increasingly likely that he will end up at either the team's F3000 partner Astromega or former champion team SuperNova this season.
