Giorgio Pantano has been disqualified from his sixth place finish in the GP2 Series sprint race after failing to recognise black and orange flags.

Pantano was in the thick of the action in the second race after storming to a dominant win in the first, the Italian having spun at the start and being forced to fight his way back into contention.

Fighting for a spot in the points, Pantano was involved in another clash with Sebastien Buemi four laps from the end that caused damage to his front wing and prompted officials to show the black and orange flag demanding he pit for repairs.

However, the Campos Grand Prix driver failed to do so and has therefore been stripped of his sixth place finish and the point he gained for it. As such, Karun Chandhok moves up to reclaim that spot and claim second point scoring result of the weekend.
