Despite recent speculation listing Diego Nunes and Alvaro Parente as the favourites to land the ride, Fisichella Motor Sport International has announced that Andy Soucek will complete its driver line-up for the 2008 GP2 Series season.

Soucek, who raced for David Price Racing last season and took podium finishes at Spa and Valencia, has continued to race for DPR into the GP2 Asia campaign but will then move over to FMSI for the start of the European season in Spain in April.

"I am very pleased to join in a top team such as Fisichella Motor Sport International," he said. "It is a great opportunity for me. These are the most important years of my professional life, and that's why I choose the best for me to do.

"Being linked with such a prestigious team will also help to make my sponsors happy. I'm glad to work with my new team mate Adrian, we will give a strong push forward to achieve all together a very successful season."

Team owner Giancarlo Fisichella was quick to welcome Soucek into the team, saying he was confident that he would be a winning addition to the line-up.

"We have now completed our line-up and it is the most competitive combination we have had since the beginning of FMSI," he said. "Our objective is to finish in the top three in the series and the arrival of Andy will make sure we will achieve our goal."
