Suzuki to run Red Bull livery at Laguna.

The Suzuki MotoGP team has secured a one off sponsorship deal with Red Bull for the American Motorcycle Grand Prix at Laguna Seca on July 10th - and Crash.net has secured an exclusive ahead of the official announcement through our reporter Toby Moody.

Both bikes will be in full Red Bull livery, marking the first time the Austrian company has backed a team in the premier-class since the 2002 500cc WCM Yamahas of Garry McCoy and present Suzuki star John Hopkins.

"Red Bull is such a great company to be with, they are always into all forms of extreme sport and it doesn't get a lot more extreme than MotoGP!" said Hopper, who was introduced into MotoGP by Red Bull in 2002 and has been with the company since. "I can't wait until Laguna, I've been doing laps in my head since the date was announced!

"I was excited when I heard Red Bull were partnering the event, now I've heard I'm riding a 'Red Bull Suzuki' in the race I desperately want to show them that they've made a great decision. I'm ready to get my wings at Laguna!" he declared.

"Red Bull has put a lot of effort into making the USGP happen and by teaming up with John, Kenny and Suzuki it will now also be in the thick of the MotoGP action," added team manager Paul Denning. "We are going to Laguna to get a great result for Suzuki and for Red Bull, as well as for our other loyal partners.

"Red Bull is one the most recognised brands in the world and to see the charging bull on the side of the GSV-R, with two American riders going full gas on their home-track, will be just fantastic!"

After leaving WCM, Red Bull went on to become title sponsor of the KTM 125 GP team, while Suzuki has been running without a title sponsor since Telefonica Movistar left, with Sete Gibernau, for Team Gresini in 2003. KTM will not be present at Laguna Seca since only the MotoGP class will race in America.

As well as Hopkins, Red Bull is also a personal sponsor for the likes of Nicky Hayden, Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa.
