Elias hits out after podium return.

After taking his first podium of the 2009 season at Brno on Sunday, Toni Elias hit out at the 'strange' decisions that have forced him to change teams every year for the past three seasons, and put his MotoGP future in doubt.

Elias gave the Gresini Honda outfit its first podium since 2007 with third place in Sunday's Czech Republic Grand Prix - just days after being told that there would be no place for him at the team next season.

"The future is really tough for me," admitted Elias. "I don't have anything for next season. Anyway I just concentrated with my team to do a good job this weekend. We kept improving and finally, in the race, Jorge [Lorenzo] crashed and gave me a present. It's my first podium of the year and I'm really happy for that."

Elias, who made his MotoGP debut in 2005 and won the 2006 Portuguese Grand Prix, has taken at least one podium finish in each of the last four seasons.

"It's strange and I get angry when I think that there are many riders in the last few years who have never been on the podium and always get good bikes," he said. "And me, I have had podiums for the last few years but I always find myself in this same situation. It is very strange. I don't know. We will see."

Aside from his Donington DNF, when he crashed out of fourth, Elias has finished no lower than sixth at the last four rounds.

"Well I don't receive any help from Honda. I receive help from my team," said Elias, who is supposed to have a factory-spec RC212V. "When the team improved my bike we started to get closer to these guys at the front. If these are bad results I don't understand.

"I think I have done a great job in the last few races and now I have got third place. I will try to continue like this and not to think too much for the future. If someone really wants me, I'm here!"

Elias entered MotoGP with Tech 3 Yamaha, and then spent two seasons at Gresini Honda before a move to Pramac Ducati. The Spaniard then returned to Gresini for 2009.

Toni's team-mate Alex de Angelis is also out of a job after Marco Melandri was confirmed alongside 250cc world champion Marco Simoncelli at Gresini next year.
