Catalunya 'most entertaining' MotoGP race

Crash.net viewers voted Catalunya as this year's most entertaining MotoGP race, in a season where the average score rose to 7.3 out of 10.

It is the third successive increase, up from 5.6 in 2012 and 6.6 in 2013.

Polls were set-up after each of the 18 grands prix, asking Crash.net viewers to: "Tell us exactly how entertaining you, the watching fans, thought it was by awarding a mark out of 10." A score of 10 meant 'fantastic' while 1 meant a 'dull' race.

Last year's Catalunya round was rated the most boring of the season, with an average of just 3.7 out of 10. However this year's stunning race long battle between Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo saw it shoot up to 9.3.

That exceeds the best score of last season, a 9.0 average for the Dutch TT.

The season-opening Qatar race raised its average from 8.9 to 9.1 to repeat its second place, albeit tied with the incident-packed Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island (12th last year).

Rossi's other victory of this season, in front of his home fans at Misano, was joint fourth with the Italian Grand Prix (17th last year), where team-mate Lorenzo pushed Marquez all the way to the line. Both events scored an average of 8.9.

This year's dramatic dry-wet Aragon round rose from seventh to sixth, having increased its average score from 7.2 to 8.6.

The Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno, where Marquez's perfect ten-race win streak came to an end, was ranked a midway ninth with 7.5.

At the dull end of the table, Assen sunk from first to 15th with an average score of just 6.0, putting it just ahead of the Spanish round at Jerez (5.9). The Sachsenring scored a sleepy 4.6, with Texas dropping from 14th to last with a score of 3.9.

Marquez dominated the Texas race, most memorable for the huge jump start by Lorenzo.
