Mattia Pasini's patience in his unreliable factory Aprilia finally got the better of him in Sunday's 125cc Catalan Grand Prix when, after being let down for the fifth time in seven races, the Italian began booting his jinxed machine as it lay in the gravel trap.

Pasini has shown admirable patience in the past, but being flung down the road after his engine seized into turn one early in the race proved a step too far for the 21-year-old four-times grand prix winner. Few could blame him...
