250: Lorenzo lights to flag for home win.

Reigning 250cc world champion Jorge Lorenzo has taken a dominant home victory at Catalunya, the Fortuna Aprilia star leading from the first turn to the chequered flag for his fifth win from seven starts.

The writing was on the wall after Lorenzo took pole by almost a second on Saturday, but Honda's Andrea Dovizioso and Aspar Aprilia's Alex de Angelis at least kept in touch with the rampant Spaniard until the closing stages of the 23 lap race.

Lorenzo eventually won by 3.194secs over de Angelis - as Dovizioso backed off in third - allowing Jorge to further extend his dominant world championship lead, before launching a special celebration in the stadium section - which involved Lorenzo being joined by two guitar waving look-a-likes for a mock rock concert!

A three-way fight for fifth went to the wire with reigning 125cc world champion Alvaro Bautista - winner last weekend at Mugello - just edging out the KTMs of Mika Kallio and Hiroshi Aoyama.
