Rain has forced NASCAR officials to postpone the running of the Winston Cup Pontiac Excitement 400 from Richmond International Raceway.

66 laps were completed Saturday night [early Sunday morning UK time] and the race will now resumed Sunday at noon ET.

Dale Jarrett will lead the field when the event is re-started, as he was the race leader when the Pontiac 400 was halted.

Jarrett noted: "Yeah it is frustrating, in a lot of ways. The biggest frustration is I don't have a very good race car right now. We're working on it. We made it better from the beginning, but we still can't get the front end to stick and that's gonna be a problem here."

"That's what you fight here most of the time anyway. I've got good forward bite, but I just can't get the front end to turn."

He added: "When we first started to get ready to go [the start was delayed by two hours due to rain] I said, 'Man, there's no way.' But they did a good job and everything was fine."
