Rain wreaks havoc with Charlotte schedule.

Due to rain, Lowe's Motor Speedway and NASCAR officials postponed Thursday night's Pole Night events until Friday.

NASCAR Winston Cup qualifying and the ADG 100 ARCA race presented by Easycare Vehicle Service Contracts were re-scheduled for Friday in conjunction with NASCAR Busch Series practice and qualifying.

In addition, Friday night's Charlotte Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway was cancelled due to muddy track conditions.

Saturday night's Charlotte Outlaw Showdown remains on schedule.

"Maybe we should think about starting a boat series in NASCAR," stated disappointed Winston Cup driver Johnny Benson. "With as much rain as we have had today we could put on a pretty good show for the fans.

"As far as Winston Cup, this rain delay doesn't really matter a whole lot. Losing Thursday will put us on our normal weekend schedule of qualifying on Friday, practicing on Saturday and racing on Sunday. I'm sorry for the fans who were coming out tonight, but even NASCAR has trouble getting Mother Nature to cooperate."
