Clint Bowyer took what may prove to be his last race win at Richard Childress Racing on Sunday in the Good Sam Club 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, just edging out his team mate Jeff Burton by 0.018s in a last lap shootout.

It's Bowyer's first win of the season and his fifth Cup victory of his series career, but it's likely to be the last for RCR as he's signed to leave the team and join Michael Waltrip Racing in 2012.

But it's likely to be remembered as the race with the most decisive impact on the Chase of the post-season to date, effectively curtailing the championship contenders to just four after a series of accidents put paid to the hopes of Kyle and Kurt Busch, as well as putting Kevin Harvick on the brink of falling out of the running.

After Talladega, Carl Edwards has emerged as the clear favourite for the 2011 title ahead of Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Tony Stewart.
