TT 2015: Saturday's schedule revised again

Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson has announced another provisional revised schedule for Saturday, with the first Sure Sidecar race now pencilled in for a 5pm start.

High winds with gusts up to 60mph have forced another rethink, combined with major accidents in Onchan at Baldrine, a question mark over whether the Air Med helicopter can fly in the conditions and a current lack of hospital beds, should they be required.

A serious incident involving a privately-owned helicopter on Saturday morning, which came down in the valley at the 33rd Milestone on the Mountain, also created more problems for the emergency services.

The 48-year-old pilot, the only person travelling on the helicopter, sadly died as a result of the accident.

The revamped schedule for Saturday now sees the RST Parade Lap set for 4.30pm, with roads closing from Ramsey to the Bungalow from 3.15pm and from the Bungalow to Creg-ny-baa from 3.30pm.

The rest of the course is due to close from 4pm.

Following the Sidecar race at 5pm, untimed practice is due for Superbike, Superstock, Supersport and Lightweight machines with a practice session for the TT Zero class.

On Friday, the decision was taken to reschedule the RST Superbike race for a 2pm start on Sunday after being moved from Saturday's programme due to the windy conditions.
