Benfield Sports International (BSI), rights holders of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series (SGP) and FIM Speedway World Cup (SWC), would like to clear up any confusion surrounding the 2004 calendar.

All dates and venues for the SGP and SWC are now confirmed, apart from the two Grands Prix due to be staged in Stockholm (01 May 2004) and Gothenburg (21 August 2004).

The dates for both Swedish events remain provisional as BSI has yet to receive and approve satisfactory plans for the temporary tracks which will be laid at both events. BSI fully expects to have these satisfactory plans received from the appointed contractors by the end of January 2004. Once the plans are approved these dates will be confirmed on the 2004 calendar.

A mediation process in order to reach a satisfactory resolution to the ongoing dispute regarding the postponed 2003 Scandinavian Grand Prix has now irrevocably broken down and today BSI has initiated legal proceedings against SVEMO which it plans to pursue vigorously through the courts.

The result of these proceedings will not affect the operation and running of the two events in Sweden in 2004. Due to the legal proceedings, BSI will not be making any further comments to the media about this matter.
