Skoda exits rally after fire truck mayhem.

Both Skoda WRC cars have been withdrawn from the Argentine Rally after being hit by a fire truck in the service area. Skoda's Engineering director Dr Jens Pohlmann was hit by the fire engine and has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

According to reports none of the drivers/co-drivers have been injured although Dr Jens Pohlmann was airlifted to hospital with suspected internal injuries.

The fire truck was on its way to a spectator area after fans had started a barbecue, which spread to 10 or so spectator cars. The fire is now believed to be under control.
