Minister for Tourism, Clive Brown MLA announced the acts as the penultimate round of the World Rally Championship geared up to produce another event worthy of the 'Rally of the Year' accolades it has scooped in the past.

Despite being a relative newcomer to the Australian music scene, Amorosi is no stranger to international events, having performed at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, the recent Goodwill Games, and the Tri-Nations rugby final. Barnes has a longer musical history and is already well known on both the national and international stage. Amorosi will perform on Friday 2 November from 2150, while Barnes will take to the Masters Concert Stage from the same time the following evening. The concerts are included in the price of a grandstand seat at the Langley Park superstage, but separate concert tickets are also available.

"Telstra Rally Australia is Western Australia's premier sporting event, as evidenced by it winning the WA Tourism Awards, major festivals and special events categories, the world 'Rally of the Year' award and $20 million economic impact for Western Australia," Mr Brown said, "It is only appropriate that two of Australia's most popular and successful singers should perform at the event."

On track entertainment will be just as hot. There will be the Hyundai Precision Driving Team, the extreme thrills of freestyle motocross and Garth Tander and Michael Guest going head-to-head in the 'V8 Ute Challenge'. And this is not to forget the stars of the show - the hottest drivers and cars in the WRC!

Eighty of the world's best drivers will compete in this year's rally, including five world champions - Tommi Makinen, Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Didier Auriol and Marcus Gronholm. The four-day format will take drivers on daily loops from the Langley Park superstage in Perth through the state's beautiful south-west, covering a gruelling 1402km and 21 race stages.
