The MG ZR EX258 returns to the rally stage next weekend when it contests the second round of the new FIA Junior World Rally Championship on the 38th Rally Catalunya.

With Gwyndaf Evans behind the wheel and co-driver Chris Patterson calling the notes, the GSE Motorsport-prepared MG will be looking for an improved performance from Monte Carlo, when it crashed out on the third stage. Since the Monaco-based event, a new car has been built to compete at Catalunya, with further improvements incorporated which have the team looking to Catalunya as an opportunity to gain an increased knowledge of the car in this development year.

"We had a positive test at MIRA, and the engine has improved immensely in low-down power and durability," Evans commented, "Whilst we haven't got a set-up for Catalunya, we have learned a lot more about the MG Rally car."

"We're really looking forward to Catalunya and hope the weather will be good to us - stay dry!" Patterson added, "Our aim is to get some more miles under our belt so we can further develop the car."
