The Hyundai Castrol World Rally Team has announced that Graham Moore will take on the role as Chief Engineer with immediate effect.

Moore will replace Nick Clipson who is leaving regretfully for personal reasons.

Graham Moore joined Motor Sport Developments (MSD), the team which runs Hyundai's world rally programme, three months ago as Senior Development Engineer.

His career in motorsport began in 1982 and took a leap forward when he joined Prodrive in 1990 where he worked his way to the position of Chief Engineer Powertrain before leaving to join MSD.

Moore has worked with a number of rallying's best drivers, notably Juha Kankkunen, Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Ari Vatanen, and Hannu Mikkola during his time with the Subaru team. As Chief Engineer he will head the team's 11-strong engineering department.

"This is a great opportunity for me," said 44-year-old Moore. "Over the last three months working at MSD I have learnt a lot about the team and the system and I am looking forward to a new challenge, knowing I will have the full support of a good team. They really are a good bunch of people who work very well as a team. And we have some excellent drivers as well."

"This is my third year working with Juha [Kankkunen]. We have a very good working relationship with a good level of mutual respect. I have been very encouraged with the performance and productive feedback from Freddy [Loix] and I am looking forward to continuing to develop a good working relationship with Armin [Schwarz]."

David Whitehead, Hyundai Castrol World Rally Team Principal added: "I would like to thank Nick [Clipson] for all his hard work and dedication over the last four years that he has been with us and wish him well with whatever challenge he takes up in the future."

"In the short time that Graham Moore has been with MSD his contribution has been quantified by the competitive times the car has been setting. I am confident his vast experience will be beneficial to the team and we are all excited to see the performance of the car improving as the season continues."
