Carlos Sainz looks set to join Citroen signing Colin McRae at the French equip according to reports on BBC Online which place a decision as forthcoming next week.

Sainz partnered McRae at Ford since the inception of the Focus WRC and his recent drive at the Rally of Great Britain showed that the hunger is still there.

Carlos also partnered McRae at David Richard's Prodrive team in the mid 90s so the pair are more than familiar with working with each other. A few disagreements over team orders notwithstanding the Spaniard and Scot have been a productive team.

A move for Sainz to the red Xsaras is thought to be dependant on the Citroen squad securing sufficient funding to run four cars in the championship, the team having McRae and Sebastien Loeb and Philippe Bugalski already secured for the 2003 campaign.
