Kosti Katajamaki is second in his Volkswagen Polo and Marco Ligato completes the top three.

The 1600cc drivers though only completed one stage today [SS8], after SS7 was cancelled and a road accident blocked their route to stages nine and ten.

The third and final day of the 2003 Monte Carlo Rally tomorrow [Sunday] features two stages, run twice as a pair with service in between, once again on the harbourside at Monaco.

The first stage of the pair takes crews over the Col du Turini, arguably the most famous stage in the entire World Rally Championship. Tomorrow's stage distance totals 104.20kms with the day starting at 0800 and seeing the overall rally winners take the podium at 1500.
