Daniel Carlsson, a privateer driving a Clubman specification Peugeot 206, has been awarded the Inmarsat Star of the Rally for his skilful performance on the Rally of Greece.

Nicky Grist, former co-driver and head of the panel of judges explains the reasoning behind Carlsson's win "Daniel has shown true skill throughout this event, battling with the works cars, and even claiming second place on stage 9. His competitive spirit and resilience has really shone, finishing in 5th place on one of the hardest rallies of the year. It really has been an inspiring performance! "

On receiving his award, Carlsson said "It really is an honour to be named the Inmarsat Star of the Rally. It has been a very tough event, but it is fantastic to be recognised for my performance against the best in the world."

The judges have also awarded a special mention to Per-Gunnar Andersson and his team at Suzuki competing in the JWRC. They felt it was a great example of true team spirit to not only get their car back on the road following some major damage, but to then also set some very fast times in the JWRC competition.
