Mitsubishi has confirmed that 2002 Junior World Rally champion Daniel Sola will not be apart of their FIA World Rally Championship programme in 2005.

According to reports by www.as.com, president, Isao Torii confirmed MMSP's decision, during the presentation of their 2005 Dakar bid.

Thus far, only number one driver Gilles Panizzi has been confirmed at Mitsubishi for next season.

Sola, who shared the second Lancer Evo WRC with Gigi Galli and Kristian Sohlberg during 2004, scored 3 points in the WRC, after finishing sixth in Spain.

The Spaniard also competed in the Production Car WRC, finishing the year eighth overall with 16 points. Initially he also won the PCWRC category in Argentina, but was later disqualified as his clutch did not conform to the regulations.

Sola is now said to be chasing a drive at either Ford or Skoda - both of whom have seats available, the former following Francois Duval's decision to join Citroen [announced this week - see seperate story], while Skoda only have Armin Schwarz under contract, as he is halfway through a two-year deal with the Czech manufacturer.

Subaru have also yet to confirm who will partner Petter Solberg next season, while Markko Martin's suppose move to Peugeot, which has been rumoured for sometime, has yet to be officially announced, meaning there may be a slot at Peugeot too.
