The organisers of the Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo have been forced to cancel SS3 - Pierlas-Ilonse 1, due to 'sporting reasons'.

As such the 23.22 kilometre test was run as a road section only.

The cancellation of SS3, followed problems on SS1 and SS2 - which saw only 11 competitors complete both tests, due to heavy traffic at the start of the first stage. The remaining crews were awarded notional times.

All the competitors will now re-group when they return to Monaco for a 30 minute service.

The action is now due to resume with the second loop this afternoon, when all three of this morning's tests will be repeated. SS4 starts at 14.25 hours local time.

More to follow then...
