1995 world rally champion, Colin McRae has vowed to do his 'utmost' to help Sebastien Loeb and Kronos Citroen in their battle to secure the drivers' and manufacturers' championships.

Kronos confirmed that the Scot will drive their number one car on the Rally of Turkey on Tuesday, the Brit getting the call-up after Seb broke his right arm last week while training for the thirteenth round in the 2006 FIA World Rally Championship.

Speaking to his personal website, www.colinmcrae.com, McRae, who hasn't driven in the WRC since Australia last year, added that while he was taken aback after the news last week that the Frenchman had injured himself in a mountain bike accident, he is determined to get the best result he can next weekend.

"It was a shock to hear about Seb's accident and I can only imagine how he must be feeling at this time, especially being so close to a third world title," Colin noted. "However I am delighted to have been chosen to replace Seb for the Rally of Turkey and am looking forward to having the opportunity to drive for the Kronos Total Citroen WRT, back behind the wheel of the Citroen Xsara WRC.

"The challenge will be to protect the positions of both Seb in the drivers and Kronos Total Citroen in the manufacturers' championships, by preventing the opposition taking advantage of Seb's temporary absence. Together with Nicky Grist, who will once again be my co-driver, we will do our utmost to help Loeb and the team in their efforts to secure the 2006 WRC titles."

McRae, who has won 25 WRC events, last drove the Xsara WRC in 2003, when he was apart of the factory Citroen Sport team.
