Gronholm and Rautiainen were both taken to Sligo General Hospital for precautionary checks after they went off the road and crashed into a wall towards the end of the 20.57 kilometre-run through Lough Gill 1, SS4.

Marcus and Timo had been running third overall following SS3 - just 4 seconds off the rally lead.

It has yet to be confirmed if they will re-start on Saturday under the SupeRally format - although it is thought unlikely as the car was heavily damaged in the incident.
