The well-known Rene Georges Rallysport Belgium team - which led the Ypres Rally with its Polo last year - will run two Polo Super 2000 cars for Belgians Bernd Casier and Raphael Auquier.

Ypres, Barum, Sanremo and Valais are the rallies that are currently confirmed on VW's schedule, but the team is also hoping to add Madeira and Russia to the programme depending on budget.

The two cars will be supported by the Belgian VW club and Volkswagen Racing South Africa.

Volkswagen's arrival in Belgium will mark the first time this year all five registered IRC manufacturers will be seen out together on an event.

The Ypres Rally also looks set to once again break the record for the number of Super 2000 cars entered on an IRC round, with 14 already on the entry list and still some time to go until entries close.
