Crash.net's Top 10 WRC Drivers: Number 1
Sebastien Loeb may have clinched another WRC title in 2009, but the Frenchman certainly didn't have it all his own way after being pushed hard to the finish by Mikko Hirvonen.
Early on the in the season, Loeb looked odds on to secure the crown with victory in the first five events of the year but after managing just fourth in Italy, an uncharacteristic error saw him crash out in Greece - where Hirvonen started his own run of four victories.
The following events saw Hirvonen move into the lead of the standings, helped by a post-event penalty which saw Loeb lose victory in Australia but the Frenchman rebounded to win the final two events and take the title by a point.
With his focus firmly on the WRC after seeing his proposed F1 run with Toro Rosso ended, Loeb will be back to chase a seventh successive title - although Hirvonen will be going all out to stop the Citroen ace.
For now however, he can celebrate not only being the WRC title winner, but also your top driver from the WRC season.
