M-Sport has taken the wraps off the car it will campaign it the 2015 World Rally Championship, complete with a new design that evokes iconic liveries in Ford's past.

Ahead of the 2015 WRC season opener in two weeks, the Monte Carlo Rally, M-Sport has revealed its new-look Ford Fiesta RS WRC model, unveiling a striking white and blue livery that celebrates the marque's participation at the highest level of rallying over the last 42 years.

Inspired by the designs of Hannu Mikkola's 1980 Ford Escort RS 1800 MKII and the late Colin McRae's 1989 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth, the 2015 Fiesta RS offers a new twist on a classic look.

Elfyn Evans will remain with the team for the 2015 season as he looks to build on an encouraging rookie campaign, while Ott Tanak will come on board to the replace the retired Mikko Hirvonen.

"When designing this year's livery we were keen to produce something fresh and exciting whilst celebrating Ford's long and prestigious standing within the FIA World Rally Championship," said M-Sport team principal Malcolm Wilson.

"Throughout history, Ford cars have produced some of the most striking colour schemes which became firm favourites around the globe. It's great to see some of these iconic liveries reflected in our 2015 car - a modern twist tailoring the design to our young and ambitious team.

"We continue to enjoy great support from all at Ford, Castrol and Michelin, not to mention our valued trade partners. I speak for everyone when I say that we are all looking forward to the season ahead and to unlocking the huge potential of both Elfyn [Evans] and Ott [T?nak].
