When a nine-time World Rally Champion says it is not only fun to play but very challenging, there is something intriguing about the Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo video game.

Leob, a rallying giant who also holds a outright record at the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, has put his name to an all-new video game which launches on the 29th January on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

The game takes inspiration from the previous Colin McRae video game franchise and comes from the makers of four previous generations of the WRC games, Milestone, with an all-new career mode which lets players compete at rallies which defined Loeb's career.

The statistics certainly stack up: over 300km of roads recreated in pain-staking detail, 58 different cars from past and present manufacturers and 30 hours of unique gameplay to produce the ultimate rallying experience.

Loeb has also taken a hands-on role with the development of the game to ensure the game keeps a realistic feel to come close to matching the state-of-art race simulators used by professional drivers. With the game altogether trickier to master it breaks away from arcades to give players realistic gameplay.

In addition to the Loeb career mode which moves from his Junior World Rally days to the modern day, players can challenge themselves against one another online or in multiplayer modes.

The game also includes five Rallycross tracks for some car-on-car action as well as the full 12.42-mile Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

With Loeb returning from a maiden outing at the Dakar Rally and yet to confirm his 2016 plans, this could be one way he'll keep his driving skills sharp.
