Katsuaki Fujiwara was once again the fastest of the trio of Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra riders in final qualifying at Assen in Saturday's final qualifying.

Fujiwara posted a lap of 2mins 07.675secs - more than a second faster then his previous best time in Friday's qualifying.

But it was a disappointing day for his two team mates - Stephane Chambon and Vittorio Iannuzzo. Chambon ended 23rd and Iannuzzo 25th. Karl Muggeridge continued his domination of the four sessions to date and duly took pole position. Joining him on the front row of the grid is Sebastien Charpentier, with Yamaha debutee Andrew Pitt third.

Muggeridge's team mate Broc Parkes completes the front row of the grid, with Fujiwara just behind on row two.

"It has not been an easy couple of days for us here at Assen and tomorrow will be very hard for sure," admitted Fujiwara. "At the moment, I am the fastest Suzuki, but that does not give me a lot of satisfaction because I want to be on the front row!

"Assen is a very fast, flowing circuit so I am hoping to stay in touch with the leaders and see what happens at the end of the race."
