WSS: Charpentier on pole at crucial Magny-Cours.

Defending World Supersport Champion, Sebastien Charpentier has taken pole position ahead of the final round of the Championship at his home race at Magny-Cours.

Charpentier is currently second in the Championship chase and needs a strong result for himself and a poor one from Kevin Curtain if he is going to retain his number on plate. His team-mate Kenan Sofuoglu had a tumble during the session but still finished in second place, giving Winston Ten Kate Honda yet another one two.

Yamaha Germany's Broc Parkes came home in third place, a superb qualifying as he is returning from a punctured lung and broken ribs. Rounding out the front row of the grid is David Checa the endurance rider.

Curtain, the man likely to wrap up the Championship is heading the second row of the grid.

The British contingent of Stuart Easton and Tom Tunstall are in twenty ninth and thirtieth respectively.
