Stapleford to resume WSS bid with Profile Triumph

Luke Stapleford will reconvene the Profile Racing team he won the British title with to ride a Triumph in the remaining World Supersport rounds.

Luke Stapleford will continue his World Supersport Championship bid from Assen onwards by reforming the Profile Racing team he won last year's British title with.

Stapleford had started the year with Simon Buckmaster's CIA Landlords Insurance Honda team but parted ways after just two races.

Despite this, Stapleford has been given the go ahead to continue the year riding a Triumph 675R under the Profile Racing banner, the same set up with which he won the national title in 2015.

"It has been a tough start to the year in the World Supersport class but hopefully we will now have a bit more normality within the team we can move forwards at each round. I am looking forward to racing my old bike and having a great team and fantastic support around me.

"I can't thank my sponsors enough and the help we have been given to make this happen it is very much appreciated."

A return for Triumph machinery to the full-time World Supersport field, Stapleford will receive tuition and assistance from former BSB rider-turned-crew chief Tristan Palmer.
