Donington Park has reverted back to the opening round for the 2017 MCE British Superbike championship while Oulton Park switches with Silverstone as a Showdown round.

Donington Park has reverted back to the opening round for the 2017 MCE British Superbike championship while Oulton Park switches with Silverstone as a Showdown round before the traditional Assen and Brands Hatch finale.

After acting as the opening Showdown round for this season Donington Park will return to its 2015 spot in the BSB calendar as the season opener while Silverstone moves back to the end of the campaign.

The Northamptonshire circuit, which will also host the British MotoGP round in 2017, will welcome BSB a week after the MotoGP round on the 8-10 September as the final round of the regular season before the Showdown.

Oulton Park will host the first round of the Showdown before moving on to Assen, which confirmed its place on the 2017 BSB two weeks ago, and then the traditional Brands Hatch GP season finale on the 13-15 October.

The rest of the 2017 calendar appears largely unchanged with Brands Hatch Indy hosting round two and the first trip to Oulton Park takes round three (both rounds fall on Bank Holidays).

After the road racing mid-season break, the action resumes on the 16-18 June at Knockhill with the middle chunk of the campaign visiting its usual venues of Snetterton, Brands Hatch GP, Thruxton and Cadwell Park.
