BSS: Emmett savours 'fantastic' victory.

The Lloyds British Ducati team came away from a rain-soaked Croft with a convincing race win under their belts, taken by their recently recruited rider Sean Emmett.

On only his third outing onboard the Ducati 749R the experienced rider showed the young guns the way to do it and convincingly beat the field with a five second lead.

The race got off to a dramatic start with a first corner pile up causing the red flags to come out. It was restarted in full and run over a reduced distance of fourteen laps, on the restart Emmett was in sixth place after the first turn, but by the end of the first lap he had passed everybody bar Tom Sykes on the TAS Suzuki. Two laps later he took the lead, but young Eugene Laverty on the Red Bull Honda was on a mission and managed to get by Emmett on lap seven.

The experience and maturity of Emmett eventually paid off when Laverty high-sided on lap twelve leaving him to pick up the spoils and beating Tom Sykes and Leon Camier into second and third places respectively.

"That was absolutely fantastic and I'm so pleased for the whole Lloyds British Ducati Team who have worked their socks off this weekend and for John, Phil and Ken who have put their faith in me and given me this opportunity," enthused Emmett. "I need to thank Ian White, Allen Carver, all the sponsors and especially Jay, Rick & Neil, Dunlop and K-Tech who have worked really hard to get the bike dialled in. I might have a couple of sherbets tonight to celebrate!"
