James Haydon is back on track with his Rizla Suzuki after taking part in the official British Superbike testat Silverstone.

Haydon hasn't been on a bike for almost three months following his crash at the seventh round of the series at Snetterton, so he spent the day reacquainting himself with his race bike.

"The test has been all about getting back on a bike and easing myself in gently," said Haydon, "You forget just how quick a superbike is and rather than pushing myself too early, I decided to take my time and get to know the bike again. I got quicker as the day progressed and I am delighted that I will be returning to race here next week with Rizla Suzuki. My comeback has officially started."

Meanwhile, team-mate Shane 'Shakey' Byrne concentrated on testing new chassis and fork settings, ending the day on lap-record pace.

"It's been a useful test," he explained. "In the last session we found a good setting and I'm happy we have made progress; it will certainly give us a running start for when we race here."

Rizla Suzuki returns to Silverstone for the penultimate round of the championship on Sunday 17 September.
