Bradley Ray has secured his second pole position of the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike championship ahead of a resurgent Josh Brookes at Snetterton.

The Buildbase Suzuki rider lost his early BSB riders’ standings lead last time out at Oulton Park to Leon Haslam, but Ray has struck back ahead of the Snetterton races by taking pole position with his final flying lap which took top spot from Brookes on the McAMS Yamaha.

After the opening laps Glenn Irwin had been sitting on provisional pole for Be Wiser Ducati but was shuffled down to third place but stayed ahead of RAF Regular & Reserves Kawasaki’s Jake Dixon and BSB championship leader Halsam.

Dan Linfoot completes row two for Honda on his comeback from injury ahead of JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey.

Danny Buchan recovered from a hairy moment in Q2 when he fell at Agostini’s but his FS-3 Racing Kawasaki squad produced a quick repair job to see the British rider joined the Q3 action to take eighth place ahead of Tyco BMW’s Michael Laverty.

Jason O’Halloran was the unlucky 10th place rider to just miss out on Q3 and will be joined on row four by Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha’s James Ellison and BSB debutant Andrew Irwin who is standing in for the injured Shane Byrne at Be Wiser Ducati.

Earlier in the day Halsall Racing Suzuki dropped out of the Snetterton race weekend after sacking rider Tommy Bridewell.
