As the 2022 British Superbike season draws to a close it was time for the riders to reflect on the ups and downs of the year after the final race at Brands Hatch.
Bradley Ray only needed on race at Brands Hatch to secure the 2022 British Superbike title as Glenn Irwin did all he could to try and keep the championship running to the final day with a race win.
British Superbikes had seen Tom Sykes back to his best but it was Bradley Ray who edged nearer to the 2022 title with the final win of round ten at Donington Park.
The first weekend of the Showdown was an eventful one - wth red flags, injuries and penalties all playing a part in the outcome of round nine, a return to Oulton Park.

Cadwell Park concluded it’s weekend of racing with a superb double win for Danny Buchan with an unchanged podium in both races of Bradley Ray and Tommy Bridewell to finish round seven.
Cadwell Park began it’s bank holiday Saturday action with Bradley Ray smashing the lap record in the return of Superpole and finished with him going on to dominate the round seven sprint race.
Sunday saw two close races with three Yamaha’s in contention in both outings, with race two again going Jason O’Halloran’s way before Tarran Mackenzie denied him a double clean sweep with a win at Thruxton.
The scorching Thruxton weekend began with action as hot as the weather as Jason O’Halloran collected his sixth win of the season, while a photo finish was needed to confirm second.
Bradley Ray’s lead was barely challenged as he stayed out front from lights out to chequered flag to win the opening sprint race at Knockhill, the fourth round of the championship.
