Dan Harper will start tomorrow's eleventh round of the 2018 Porsche Cup GB from pole position after snatching the top-spot from JTR stablemate Lewis Plato at Knockhill.

The JTR runner had looked set to start the opening race from the second row on the grid, but Harper saved his best effort until last to knock Plato off the top-spot as the 30-minute shootout reached its climax.

“It’s unreal. JTR gave me a fantastic car and a massive thank you to them. I didn’t pull off a great lap on my first run, but it came together in the end and I’m delighted," said Harper.

"I’ve got a lot of people that have come over from Northern Ireland to support me this weekend and it’s great to be able to achieve this in front of them.”

Championship leader Dino Zamparelli had to settle for third position behind the leading JTR machines, but, crucially, still out-qualified his main title rival Tio Ellinas, who could only manage sixth spot.

Tom Wrigley and the impressive Pro-Am effort of Motorbase Performance's Dan Vaughn separate the current top-two title contenders in fourth and fifth.

George Gamble shares the fourth row with GT Marques' Esmee Hawkey in seventh and eighth, while Seb Perez and Jamie Orton complete the remainder of the top-ten grid in ninth and tenth.

Top honours for the Am category once again proved to be a closely fought affair with Peter Mangion edging his main rival Peter Kyle-Henney by just 0.037s in 12th and 13th.
